I’ve just been going back through my blog posts and have found something I wrote nearly 12 months ago now… wow things have changed (another baby for example!), but the thoughts haven’t. So perhaps its time to share them with you now…
~ April 2014 ~
I just spent the most wonderful day with my beautiful family. My husband and I with our two boys (ages 4 & 2), spent most of day exploring a Farmers Market and then a leisurely afternoon at home.
It was wonderful not because of what we did or where we went, but because we were spending time together. Taking in life and enjoying each other’s company out in the fresh air and blue skies.
It’s what’s made me remember why I do what I do…
I often find myself thinking “why am I doing this? Do I just like to be busy? Do I think I have something to prove? Should I be doing something else? Surely something this fun shouldn’t be allowed.”
Yes, I know… But hey that’s me… the overthinker.
Well today I was reminded:
I work from home so I can help provide for my family.
I am self-employed, and yes I’m busy, but it’s my choice and I can also then choose to take time off to enjoy the special moment with my boys.
I work doing something I love because… Well honestly I’d be a very grumpy person if I didn’t.
So this post is for me… To remind myself why I do things. It’s not just because I love to cook and blog and all things pretty, but it’s helping me to be present in my families here and now, whilst also allowing me to sew into their future.
